Excellence. Accountability. A world-class education.
This is what Richland School District Two has come to mean for generations of families in Northeast Columbia.
This November 4, you have the opportunity to help maintain the standard of excellence that families have come to expect from Richland Two. When you say YES to our schools, you will be saying YES to excellence. You will be saying YES to meeting the needs of our community. You will be saying YES not only to those students who are currently enrolled in District Two – but also to generations of students to come. You will be saying YES to preserving the value of the thousands of diplomas that have been issued to Richland Two students over the past fifty years.
You don’t need us to tell you that the district is experiencing explosive growth. You can see it on the crowded highways, the jammed grocery stores, the endless carpool lines.
So, why now? Why this election?
The answer is simple. The need is great. Our schools are crowded to capacity, and our growth is staggering. If we wait another four years, not only will we have done a great disservice to the students in the district, we will be facing skyrocketing construction costs.
We know that our district has proven accountability to us over and over again. Richland Two is one of only 85 school districts in the country (and the only one in SC) with a “AA” credit rating from all three national bond rating agencies. (Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s, and Fitch Ratings). This has allowed Richland Two to obtain lower interest rates (saving our taxpayers millions of dollars) and it has allowed the district to avoid having bond insurance (saving our taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars). Over the last decade, all construction projects have been completed on-time and within budget. We can trust Richland Two to be great stewards of our money at a time when we most need to make wise decisions about how we spend.
When you go to the polls on November 4 to choose our new national and state leaders, lead the way for our kids, too. Say YES to our schools!
